ABOUT THE MOON
One of the things I love most about the moon, is that every generation passed has stood and stared at it, our ancestors, the same moon that you and I look at...generations to come, our great great grandchildren and beyond, will do the same.
We are all connected.
The Moon Phase Goddess Necklaces are inspired by my love of all things Luna... they are created outside, at night, by moonlight.
They are then finished in my studio. The gemstones used in these pieces are also kept outdoors in the moonlight before I create with them.
This is called Moonlight Cleansing.
The silvery light of the moon has enchanted and bewildered people since the beginning of time. In many ancient cultures, moon deities were worshipped in elaborate rituals. The lunar cycles also served as a planting and harvesting calendar. The moon, which reflects the sun's light, is a creative force in the dark of night. Both the full and new moon are powerful times of letting go and bringing newness in your life. As well as the tides, and all things fluid, the moon has an impact on our emotions. When we are positively inspired by the Moon, we are creative, intuitive, sentimental, adaptable, introspective, and protective. If negatively inspired, we become moody, restless and irrational. Associated with the mother and feminine energy in general, the Moon represents our individual nurturing instincts. She is magic, she is mystery, and she is grace.

The Moon Phase Necklaces are the only TRaewyn necklaces which are created outside, under the light of the moon. There will be limited necklaces available due to the time involved to create each one. Want to see if there are any available? Visit the Moonphase section in the shop.
The Moon represents our unconscious desires...She is both our inner child and our outer mother, and indicates our spontaneous and instinctual reactions to our environment. She also shows us how we protect ourselves; how we make ourselves safe, comfortable and secure. Whether we allow ourselves to be motivated by fear, restlessness or a fearless sense of adventure is often indicated by the sign our Moon embraces in our charts. By showing us our unconscious responses, the Moon helps us to gain deep personal insight and we can then work toward healing any deep emotional wounds we have experienced. By healing these wounds, we can then be free to grow into our authentic, powerful selves.
The Moon Phases are:

Sap Moon, Crow Moon or Lenten Moon
After the spring equinox:

Each phase of the Moon resonates with magical significance
and astrological meaning.
The New and Crescent Moon - Beginnings
It’s time to begin projects, new regimes, fresh starts. Many gardeners say that this is the best time to plant seeds. A time to set goals.
The First Quarter Moon - Action
The Moon reaches her first quarter seven days after the New Moon. A time to get your projects 'out there' and do something practical and productive about those decisions and goals you made when the Moon was new.
The Gibbous Moon – Movement
The Moon is now waxing larger as it moves from New towards Full. The next seven days have a forward momentum. If you began something new, in the new moon, you should be seeing some results by now. Not the final results, but moving towards them.
The Full Moon – Harvest
The lunar energies peak now, fourteen days into the cycle. It is harvest time, possibly for the projects begun at a New Moon beforehand. Emotions may peak one way or another too, and some may feel restless. Try not to make any big decisions during the full moon...wait a few days. This is the perfect time for cleansing crystals.
The Disseminating Moon – Thinking
The Moon begins to wane, and energies and thoughts turn inwards. This is a good time to think about your goals or the direction you are following. Use what you have learned and bide your time.
The Third Quarter Moon – Shuffling the deck
If you need to fine-tune things, now is the time. It’s about seven days since the Full Moon. Work with what you have, and make it better. It’s not a good time to start anything new. Clear Out things you don’t need, or which isn’t working for you. This is a good time to clear out cupboards, weed your garden, and cut ties with anything that brings you down. This letting go continues into the Balsamic Moon.
The Balsamic Crescent Moon - Release
The waning Moon has reached its last phase. It is a time of release. You may feel peaceful, or you may feel empty. The final days just before the New Moon are also called the dark of the Moon, because it sheds so little light. Symbolically, this suggests the inner world is more important than the outer world at this point in the cycle.
